While preparing for such competitive and important exams such as JEE Mains / Advance / NEET / BITSAT, one of the most important things is to know the best books for preparing to the level of exams. The parameters include - Concepts, Solved Examples, Relative Content and Level of questions. Being myself as JEE student I have gone through all the famous as well as great books.
I have also mentioned books which are best for a particular topic because sometimes few chapters may not be so good in most general books.
So here is my list of BEST BOOKS for preparations -
I have also mentioned books which are best for a particular topic because sometimes few chapters may not be so good in most general books.
So here is my list of BEST BOOKS for preparations -
1. PHYSICS -
- HC VERMA ( Volume 1 and 2 ) - If u have to select just one book for complete syllabus of Physics, then no book is more better than HC Verma. Best book for concept clearity and solved examples. More than enough for JEE Mains, NEET and BITSAT preparation. There are 4 types of questions present in the book - Solved Examples, Objective Question (Single Choice), Objective Questions (Multiple Choice) and Subjective Questions. The objective questions are really conceptual and would definitely check your deep concepts of the chapter. It has 2 volumes according to 11th and 12th. So according to me it is one of the must and best book for preparation of Physics.
- DC PANDEY - It is also regarded as one of the best books for preparation. There are few students who thinks that theory in HC Verma is bit less, then for those students this is the best alternative.
- IE IRODOV and KROTOV - These books generally have higher lever of questions and are great while preparing for JEE Advance.
- Halliday, Resnick and Walker - Only recommended for theory and that too deep theory if someone interested in some topic. Not recommended for preparation of these competitive exams.
- NCERT - Last but not the least NCERT which is important for JEE Mains and BITSAT basically. Every year you will get few questions theory and means fact based in these two exams. So if preparing for Mains specially then Semi Conductors and Communication System, don't ignore these topics, you will definitely get 3 questions overall from this in Mains. And sometimes theory of Modern Physics is also asked so go through that also once.
2. CHEMISTRY -
Inorganic Chemistry -
- NCERT - No book is better than NCERT of class 11th and 12th for all the exams. There might be few questions out of NCERT in JEE Advance but otherwise you will rarely find any question out of the NCERT context. So NCERT is very must for Inorganic Chemistry.
- JD LEE - For JEE Advance preparations, you can go through this book.
Organic Chemistry -
- NCERT - Again one important book for Organic Chemistry. So please go through it once at least.
- MS Chauhan / Himanshu Pandey - Best books for question solving and you will get all level questions in these books with answers and solutions.
- OP TANDON / SOLOMONS - Recommended only for JEE Adcance that too if you have time.
Physical Chemistry -
- NCERT - Great book for basic concepts clearity but questions may come of more level than that of NCERT even in Mains. So only NCERT is not sufficient as in Inorganic and Organic.
- N AWASTHI / RC MUKHERJEE - Best books for problem solving. You will also get solutions. In RC Mukherjee you can also get great theory.
3. MATHEMATICS -
- RD SHARMA / NCERT EXAMPLER - Only if your basics are not strong and means recommended for basic questions for Boards and Mains to some extent.
- SL LONELY ( For Trigonometry and Coordinate Geometry ) - You will get higher level questions mostly so I would say great only for JEE Adcance.
- ARIHANT ( For Differential and Integral Calculus ) - Great book for Calculus problems and also theory. All level questions available in the book.
- ARIHANT or HALL KNIGHT - For higher algebra. Hall Knight is not deigned specifically for JEE or NEET so you may find out of course things in it otherwise book and questions are awesome.
- NCERT - Only for Integration, Vector 3D if you want to make your basics strong.
